Wellington Night Spots
Tatou is located on Cambridge Terrace (which is around the corner
from Courtenay Place). Tatou is a very popular nightspot which
starts pumping around 2am. Don't get there too early and be disappointed.
Unlike a lot of other places, Tatou stays open till around 7am.
It is divided into two main areas. Upstairs is a quiet relaxing bar and
lounge area where you can listed to a variety of music. Downstairs
is where the JBLs pump out drum & bass, techno, jungle, hardcore.
Cafe Paradiso has now been extended and contains a bar/night spot
called the Blue Room. The Blue Room caters to
those people who like Techno music. The place is laid out
with big couches. While there is a wide range of alcoholic drinks
available, Vault 88 seems to be the preferred drink.
La Luna is located in the heart of the city on Dixon St.
La Luna often houses some popular DJs. Recently, La Luna
hosted Ms Wood from London. La Luna is separated into two
bars. One plays predominantly Hip Hop music and the
other plays rave like music. While not as trendy as the
Blue Room or Tatou, it still draws a fair crowd.
