Old St Paul's is a unique old cathedral nestled in the heart of Wellington's heritage precinct. Constructed entirely of native timbers, it is a unique example of Gothic Revival architecture - renowned for its vaulted arches and unique timber design throughout the world.

Old St Paul's stands on a site that was formerly part of Pipitea Pa. Between 1866 - 1964 Old St Paul's served as the parish church of Thorndon and the Anglican Cathedral of Wellington. During World War II the United States Marines used Old St. Paul's as a place of worship during their time in New Zealand. This wooden church has a special place in the hearts of many visitors from around the world.

Old St Paul's remains a place of spiritual significance to many and has become a popular venue for a wide variety of cultural events.
