Brent and Claire of Whanganui Jet invite you to come and explore the hidden depths of this unique and magical river valley known as the Whanganui River National Park - with a couple of typical New Zealanders.
We pass several particularly significant cultural and historical sites on our scenic trips, and Brent will stop to enable you to have a closer look and take photos while he tells you more about them.
The movie River Queen was shot on the Whanganui River, and you will have the opportunity to take photos as we pass the filming locations.
We are both proud of this wonderful part of Aotearoa-New Zealand, and it is our privilege to be able to share our heritage with you.
Brent Firmin is Tangata Whenua, a direct descendant of the early Maori who made their home on the Whanganui River 1000 years ago. He has 20 years experience driving jet boats on the Whanganui River, including many spent working with his father, the late Ken Firmin. Brent will share stories passed through the generations of his family, as well as those of European settlers, and the steamboats that once navigated these waters.
Half day trips from NZD $75 per person. Full day trips from NZD $95 per person.
