Total diversity, spanning the length of the West Coast, with three multi-day walks, beginning in sunny Nelson and ending in Queenstown.
Highlights:
Your New Zealand hiking vacation on the west coast is packed full of highlights including a hike through beech forest, past limestone sinkholes and across tussock-covered mountain slopes in Kahurangi NP. Watch the antics of NZ fur seal pups at a breeding colony. Hike through lush rainforest in a limestone canyon, wade across crystal clear rivers, and explore glowworm caves in Paparoa NP. Take a guided walk on the spectacular Fox Glacier and marvel at its crevasses and ice caves. Kayak the tranquil Okarito lagoon and watch native birds feeding in the shallows. Hike through podocarp forest to natural hotpools surrounded by mountain peaks in Westland NP. Throughout your New Zealand hiking vacation, you should keep watch for dolphins as you stroll along isolated beaches.
From Day 1 you will be amazed! Beginning with a drive to Flora Saddle, you will then hike for two days through beech forest, up to the tablelands of Kahurangi National Park, coming back to a cottage overlooking the Bullar Gorge on the second night for a homecooked organic meal!
On Day 3 you will visit a breeding colony of NZ fur seals, then we go south to Paparoa National Park and a 2 day hike up "Rivendell" canyon to camp with the elves! You will see glow-worms, stalagmites and stalactites and even Pancake Rocks over the next few days and even experience a 'hangi' a traditional Maori meal cooked in a hot stone pit.
Go kayaking on Day 6 if you wish on Okarito Lagoon then enjoy some free time for roaming. On to Fox Glacier on Day 7, mind the crevasses!
Day 8 sees the start of a three day hike through podocarp forest, alpine valleys within the Westland National Park. Relax in natural hotpools, explore the gracious waterfalls of the region and look out for Hectors Dolphins! Drive on to Moeraki and indulge on fresh salmon baked on the camp fire.
Take a drive over breathtaking Haast Pass to Lake Wanaka for lunch on Day 11. There is much to do in stunning Central Otago, swimming and short hikes included. Finally, up we go over the Crown Range to Queenstown, arriving in the early evening.
You will never forget your West Coast Wilderness Safari!

"A wonderful tour through a wonderful country with wonderful people in the group and, last but not least, a wonderful guide!
Danke schön, for everything. You've never lost your good mood, even if some people sometimes ask too much about trees!" - Andreas, Germany
