Kaitiaki Adventures is a Rotorua based whitewater rafting and sledging business based at Hells Gate. In the late 70's some keen Frenchmen were lying on bags full of life jackets and polystyrene, floating down stream. In 1981 the first water sledge was built (hydrospeed or hydrospeeding) it's now a professional sport in Europe and gaining popularity around the world including New Zealand. Hard to believe no experience is required but Kaitiaki Adventures Rotorua will give you all the training and safety equipment of the highest standard to make your journey a safe yet unforgettable time. Something for everyone on this excursion: beautiful scenery, play holes and awesome rapids to negotiate your way through as you are in charge of your own vessel- propelled by the flippers on your feet, our guides are there to encourage and motivate you and help where necessary, awesome family fun. All shower and changing facilities are provided.
