Welcome to Paradise Valley Ventures Horse Riding, Rotorua's premier horse riding adventure experience. We love horses and the outdoors, and we want to share that passion with you. Nothing compares to the feeling of leaving the crowds behind, climbing into the saddle, breathing in the fresh air and riding across beautiful New Zealand farmland.
Trek up through gorgeous rolling green pasture and NZ bush. Take in breathtaking scenery and magnificent panoramic lake views as you make your way up and over our picturesque 700 acre working farm.
Trekking
We have horse rides for everyone - beginners and advanced riders, young and not so young! Our fully-trained professional team will match you with the best horse for your ability, and make sure that your riding experience is safe and fun. For beginners, there is a free riding lesson included before the trek.
Our number 1 concern is that your horse trekking experience is the best it can be. All our horses are quiet and well-behaved. Helmets are provided, along with rain jackets if required.
Pony Rides
Especially for children under 8, pony rides are an opportunity for kids to experience riding, usually for the first time. The horses can be hand led by staff, or children can take the reins themselves if they feel confident enough.
Staff are close by at all times, and children are catered for according to their confidence and ability. We want kids to have a positive first encounter with horses and riding, and a great time on their horse! Parents are welcome to walk along with us if they wish.
Paradise Valley Ventures Horse riding is set on 700 acres of New Zealand pasture - a working farm with sheep and cattle. There is no better way to see rural life than by horseback. We are the Bay of Plenty's only Qualmark approved horse trekking operation. Located in Paradise Valley, we are within easy driving distance of Rotorua and nearby other great attractions like the Agrodome and the Paradise Valley Wildlife Park.
We cater for groups of all sizes and have a free pick-up service. We can host horse riding camps, school outings, tour groups and birthday parties.
