The River Wild
Is a beautiful 2 hour horse ride across the delta flats between the Rees and Dart Rivers. The ride is suitable for all riding abilities, from complete novice to lifetime rider. There are several river crossings with opportunities for the more experienced rider to canter whilst beginners are tutored. $129 pp adults and $119 per person for children (extra $20 for transport)
The Trilogy Loop
Follow the trail of Sarumans army as they departed Isengard on the this epic 3 hour ride. With breathtaking views of The Misty Mountains, Wizards Vale and Mighty Methadras, the Trilogy Loop encompasses both the Rees and Dart Valley River flats. There are several river crossings and magnificent views towards the head of Lake Wakatipu with plenty of opportunities for some faster paced riding. For advanced rider only.$169 per person (no child price) extra $20 for transport
The Ride of the Rings
Following the beautiful drive along the shores of Lake Wakatipu, passing Ithilien and stopping en-route to admire The Misty Mountains, you eventually arrive in Paradise where your 1½ hour ride starts. This slow paced ride at Paradise, 22km north of Glenorchy, overlooks 1 of 3 New Zealand World heritage areas and takes you through the golden woods of Lothlórien, passing Amon Hen, and as the track opens up the views of the Wizard's Vale and the mighty peak of Methedras are breathtaking. Paradise Station is private property and has been very popular with movie directors who have chosen to film scences from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Wolverine, The Lovely Bones, Tracker not to mention The Lord of the Rings.
Probably the most scenic horse ride in the world, and a must for The Lord of the Rings' fans. It is a slower pace ride suitable for beginner riders. $169 pp adults, $159 pp child
The River and Rings/The Loop & Rings
Two great rides in one great day! Combine The River Wild or the Trilogy Loop and The Ride of the Rings all in one day with time in between to enjoy Glenorchy's tranquil township. The River and Rings $279 pp per adult and $269 pp for children. The Trilogy Loop and Rings $309 pp (no child price)
All trips departs Queenstown at 8.30 a.m. or 1.30 p.m.
