Visit: Sculptureum, Matakana, North Island

Upon your arrival at Sculptureum you will be welcomed by the friendly ticketing team and given a brief explanation of what to expect during your visit. It is recommended that you begin with the Garden of Creative Diversity which is 1.1km long and will take you approximately 1 hour. This garden is full of inspiration for your own gardens and how you can make something as simple as a rock into an art feature. It includes an inspirational section with quotes from Steve Jobs as well as bird aviaries, pheasants and rabbits. Following this it is recommended you enjoy a coffee or lunch break at Rothko Restaurant.

The second part of The Sculptureum Experience is the indoor galleries. This part of the experience begins with the best collection of glass art in the Southern Hemisphere. The second gallery includes lithographs by Picasso, Matisse and Chagall. There is a large variety of works in the galleries by both international and local artists.
The fifth gallery leads through to the third part of the experience, The Palm Garden. This has wonderfully manicured paths flowing through a whimsical array of plants and sculptures. This one-way path leads to the Pink Snail Garden, which has the garden’s namesake, the infamous family of giant fuchsia snails, as well as a giant green rabbit made by the Cracking Art Group from Milan and many other colourful displays.

At the end of the Palm Garden circuit, you re-enter the gallery building into gallery six which houses the grand Chihuly Chandelier, the final piece of the Sculptureum Experience.
