Pukaha Mount Bruce is New Zealand's National Wildlife Centre for conservation of some of our most endangered wildlife. Learn about New Zealand’s unique conservation history and the work the Department of Conservation is doing to protect and restore our endangered species.
Must see attractions include the daily 1.30pm feeding of a gang of monster eels, and the 3pm wild kaka feed where cheeky forest parrots will swoop in and thrill you with their antics.
Friendly and knowledgeable guides provide informative and entertaining guided tours on weekends and public holidays at 10.30am and 2pm. Tours are available at other times by arrangement.
The kiwi nocturnal house is a popular attraction where visitors are awed by New Zealand's national icon, and learn about what is being done to protect them.
The souvenir shop, offers a fabulous range of New Zealand-made gifts. Café Takahe overlooks the majestic Pukaha forest and serves espresso and light meals all day. The cafe has a reputation with the locals for serving fresh, delicious and satisfying food.
