Set amidst a backdrop of lush West Coast rainforest near Greymouth, brace yourself for the New Zealand Off Road adventure of a lifetime with On Yer Bike! On Yer Bike Adventures is now home to the Hagglund -This is the most extreme way to get off-road on the wild West Coast, no 4x4 can match it! You stay clean and dry while the Hagglund gets down and dirty, journeying through our famous mud and creeks, deep into the heart of the native rainforest. A great fun Adventure for the whole family. The Experience At On Yer Bike! our tracks are a magical mix of mud, water and narrow, winding trails. You'll enjoy the thrill of navigating one of our 4WD motorbikes across rivers, through copious amounts of our famous mud and through puddles that resemble small lakes! After some sound advice and guidance from your tour guide, you're off on your own quad bike to tackle the puddles, hills and rainforest tracks. Our expert guides will lead the way, stopping at various points, so you can explore this enchanted place deep in the forest. On Yer Bike! is an awesome family adventure, and has something for everyone in the family. Children (from the age of 12) and adults can operate our Quad Bikes, we also have 2-seater Go-Karts and kids love racing about on our Mini Bikes (6 years and over). Anyone can be a passenger in our awesome 6-seater 8WD Amphibious Argo or why not go for a ride in the Hagglund (seats 15 passengers). The incredible all terrain ability of these machines will give you an off-road experience unlike any other. Fun for the whole family! Tour Information and Times Tours are from 1 hour right through to a full day trip to the isolated mining town of Big River. On Yer Bike! run tours in brilliant sunshine or torrential rain! It doesn't matter when you are kitted out in all the wet weather gear we have available. No Driver's License or experience is required. Helmets and Boots are provided and wet weather gear is available for a small hire charge. Tours run on demand from 8:30am until 5:00pm. We do not have a set timetable, so choose a time that best suits and if it's available then we will confirm the booking! Big River Gold Fever Day Trip Take a tour to the most isolated mine site on the West Coast! At its peak, 100 people lived in the town of Big River and the mine that drew them there surrendered up 100,000 ounces of gold. Your friendly guide will point out old mine shafts along the way. Some are still accessible, stop and check them out!....On arrival at Big River, take a walk to the last standing 'popet head' on the coast! Original mining shacks are still there ready for you to explore. Tours leave 'On Yer Bike' at 9am, returning approx. 5pm Bookings are essential and lunch and refreshments are provided for the day. We can pick up from your accommodation. Little Earth On Yer Bike! in Greymouth, New Zealand is also home to Little Earth, a truly unique exhibition of indoor and outdoor model villages of real West Coast towns: Reefton and Waiuta, New Zealand's favourite ghost-town. 1930's Waiuta is recreated at 1/12th scale with more than 250 buildings on 1 acre. Experience gold-mining history for yourself and meet some of the colourful characters - in miniature of course - that made Waiuta unique! An indoor model of the main streets of Reefton during the 1960's is housed in the "Village Barn". Reefton is a West Coast town famed for being the first place in the Southern Hemisphere to provide a public electricity supply. The model is complete with street and house lights. Gumboot Cafe Gumboot Café is open for light refreshments including Devonshire Teas, Coffee, Ice Creams and Drinks. There are plenty of photo opportunities at the many beautiful spots in the forest. You'll see tall native trees, birdlife, views of the valley and maybe some wild deer tracks. You can even purchase a CD of Photographs of your muddy adventure to keep as a memento of your time with On Yer Bike! | ||||||
