The Walk Gisborne Experience

Your walking holiday with Walk Gisborne begins on Karakaroa Farm, the original homestead block of the 1200 hectare Rimunui Station, and continues across the 576ha Makorori Station.

The private farm and coastal walk follows well used tracks beside the Waitama River and Whainukota Stream, over open country, through pockets of puriri-rich native bush, stands of kanuka and valleys of toitoi to the famed white sands of Makorori Beach, where you can feel the sand between your toes while you linger, swim and sunbathe. It passes historic kumara pits and ancient mud volcanoes, and affords simply stunning views of this edge-of-the-earth paradise.

Each day's walk takes between three and six and a half hours depending on speed and fitness levels. Moderate fitness is recommended.

No need to worry about carrying your bags, your luggage will be transported between accommodation for you!
