A whakatau (greeting/welcome) will be led by your guide.
A safety briefing and gear check to make sure you are ready and prepared.
Select a native shrub from the runaka nursery for planting on the beach spit as part of our restoration work.
There will be a short 2 minute walk to the launching area where our guide will teach the basics of waka paddling.
Then board the waka and begin the river trip. Once we arrive at Spit we will begin planting your native tree. 
Your guide will talk about the history of Pa (fortified village) and surrounding area with possible wildlife sightings.
Explore the beach spit and paddle along the river and back to shore. 
Disembark and walk back to office.
Shower and change if desired. 
Coffee, tea and light snacks provided.
