Independent Cycle Tours New Zealand (ICTNZ) offers you a huge range of independent or self-guided bicycle tour holidays from overnight to 28 days or longer at the best prices available in New Zealand. We pride ourselves on making your tour a total experience, from fantastic routes and friendly, personal accommodation arranged for you each night, to top quality bike and equipment hire.
We aim to meet the needs of anyone considering New Zealand as a cycling destination. We have the largest range of bikes available in New Zealand, nation-wide drop-off and the best price guaranteed.
Feel free to ask about any additional requirements; for example, vegetarian, deluxe accomodation, share twin or double room, want to join up with others, want us to design a personal tour, include adventure activities, camper van or equipment hire, any allergies to animals (in case of pets in B&Bs) etc.
The Bikes
To undertake a bike tour in New Zealand, you need a bike capable of standing up to the rigours of this diverse countryside. We offer well-serviced bikes with Shimano deore 27 speed componentry as miminum. All mountain, road and hybrid bikes are 2007 model or later, so you can be sure you are riding a top quality state-of-the-art bike.
The bikes are replaced every year, and are thoroughly checked after every hire, so you can be assured of a well serviced, quality bike for your hire. These bikes are not the cheaper alternatives offered by other companies.
Everything you Need...
We can provide you with everything you need, or the bare necessities. Options range from basic bicycle and equipment hire, to self-guided tours, through to fully guided tours on our partner website. We come to you to drop-off the bicycle and equipment (including weekends and after-hours by arrangement) and run you through anything. From this first valuable contact, our service is designed to assist you every step of the way.
ICTNZ are the only company in New Zealand specialising in quality self-guided bike touring in the South Island. ICTNZ has been set up by cycle tourers, for cycle tourers. We have extensive knowledge of bike touring in the South Island of New Zealand, gained through tens-of-thousands of kilometres cycling all the routes we recommend.
