City Motorcycle Rentals are a family owned and operated business, based in Christchurch New Zealand,and we offer personalized and semi guided Tours. We are passionate about motorcycles and the people that ride them - no matter what you ride. City Motorcycle Rentals not only provide you with a motorbike, but help you make the most of your trip of a lifetime.
If you need advice about routes and accommodation - we're here to help. Our staff has been just about everywhere in New Zealand and has fantastic local knowledge of this wonderful country. Use us as a travel resource for your trip.
City Motorcycle Rentals offer a range of motorcycles, for example BMW650GS, Yamaha XT600, Kawasaki KLR650E, Suzuki 650 V Strom/HondaVT250 and Maxi scooters Kymco 500cc /250cc. Our mechanic has been in the motorcycle rental field for over 10 years and knows exactly how to maintain and set up bikes. You will get the most from your New Zealand motorcycling holiday and be able to relax and enjoy some of the best roads and scenery on the planet.
South Island
The scenery changes every 100-200 kms; from big straight tussock verged main highways, to twisty rain forests, stunning fjords, mountains, glaciers and rugged coastal splendor. You can even ride through "Middle Earth" where the incredible movie "The Lord of The Rings" was filmed.
State Highway 1 runs the length of New Zealand. You can ride on good tar sealed roads or well kept gravel (unsealed) roads that take you right through the back blocks of New Zealand. The most common comments made by our clients are "the roads are empty" and "stunning scenery overload."
New Zealand with its breathtaking scenery, as diverse as the local people you will meet, is the ideal location for a wonderful motorcycling holiday.
North Island
The North Island has a slightly more temperate climate with amazing beaches, fantastic twisty roads, natural hot springs and great lakes and mountains.

At Motorcycle Rental NZ we like to offer personalized and semi guided Tours.
We can do all your accommodation and Inter Islander Ferry bookings (between the North and South Island) and advise you on good motorcycling roads. As we are all motorcyclists ourselves and have toured extensively around New Zealand we understand motorcyclist's and can work out the best tour for you designed around your interests.
Based in Christchurch in the South Island, we also have a drop/pick up in Takapuna, Auckland.
