This tour is an overnight option to our day tour from Auckland enabling you to include Lake Taupo in your visit to this world famous geothermal area.
Staying overnight at the Park Heritage Hotel (or similar) your stay includes a traditional Maori hangi feast where a selection of food is naturally steam cooked under ground. Afterwards a group of local Maori will entertain you with a traditional song and dance concert.
The next day (breakfast own arrangements) depart for Lake Taupo - on the way visit Lady Knox Geyser and Waiotapu and its unique volcanic landscape.
On arrival at Lake Taupo visit the thundering water at Huka Falls before stopping at the look out for expansive views (on clear days) of the snow capped volcanoes of Ngauruhoe, Ruapehu and Tongariro at the far end of the lake.
Visit the township for lunch (own arrangements). Return to Rotorua via one of the world's largest man-made forests to connect with your Auckland bound coach late afternoon.
