Your tour includes transportation to and from Auckland central city.
Tours are small and intimate taking a maximum of 7 on any one tour; we believe the best way to experience the natural side of Auckland is in small groups.
Your guide for the day will pick you up from your centrally located Auckland accommodation for your nature tour to Tawharanui, a little over one hour from Auckland.
Pick up times vary with seasons, between 1.30pm and 2pm
You will first visit Parry Kauri Park to see an 800 year old kauri tree and then to the boutique village of Matakana, before continuing on our way to the mainland sanctuary of Tawharanui.
Two guided walks are included; one in the day time and one at night-time to discover New Zealand’s nocturnal life including the kiwi. Each walk is around 2 hours – a reasonable level of fitness is required. (Please note; that on the night walk to protect and assist in finding wildlife we will be using red lights, tracks are well formed but there can be tree roots and sometimes patches of mud).
Your guides are passionate, and very knowledgeable, about New Zealand's unique environment, it's natural history, flora and fauna.
Take some time to relax or explore the white sandy beaches and coastlines.
Enjoy a delicious gourmet picnic dinner looking out onto the ocean and outlying islands as the sun sets.
This is an intimate small group tour with a max of 7 people.
Your return to your Auckland hotel will vary with seasons (10pm in winter-time and mid-night in summer-time – times approx).
