Set on 40 acres, in the foothills of the beautiful Waitakere Ranges, Crystal Mountain is a peaceful oasis just 20 km from Auckland C.B.D. This exciting purpose built gallery, houses New Zealand ’s largest selection of rare and exquisite crystals and minerals, directly imported and sourced from mines around the world. Several specimens weigh over 500kg each and others over 2 metres tall. Many rare and beautiful specimens are available both on exhibit and for sale.
Travel by elevator to the heart of Crystal Mountain to visit the Crystal Mine Museum where we also have an impressive collection of fossils, Crystals and Minerals from around the world on display.
Fabulous food is another specialty at Crystal Mountain – enjoy our selection of Breakfasts or treat yourself to a delicious café lunch followed by a great cappuccino at our very own 'Café on The Rock'. Delicious light lunches, brunches, Cappuccinos, teas etc… are available and prepared daily on our own premises. Group bookings are welcome, and a children's menu is available.
Our function Centre ' Fullers Vineyard BBQ's' is an excellent venue for Bus Groups and festivities through out the year. Indoor seating for 240 is availble indoors and out doors there is seating for a further 100.
Crystal Mountain has been specifically built for easy access for visitors of all ages, regardless of physical ability and will delight old and young alike with the many things to see and do.
Besides our world class collection of crystals and minerals; an excellent selection of unusual stone gifts and souvenirs are also available, many of which have been produced by our own company.
At Crystal Mountain we want to provide a fun experience for the whole family, which is why we have a variety of activities which are sure to entertain both children and adults.
The Crystal Mountain 4 in 1 Bungy Trampoline, Panning for Crystals and our Miniature farm is an exciting adventure with pony rides (weather permitting) and various other activities.
Miniature Farm
Meet our loveable llamas, Minnie the Donkey, Emus, Ponies, calves, Peacocks, Geese, Ducks, lambs and much more. Watch them as they graze in their areas and you are welcome to pat them as they come to say hello at the fences.
Kids love having a ride on our very friendly ponies. This is a great way for the kids to have fun. We offer supervised pony rides on most weekends and throughout the school holidays (weather permitting)
Pan for Crystals
It's all about making learning fun! Kids can now learn about the old method of panning with our "Pan for Crystals" activity. Each child receives a bag of hidden treasure that gets uncovered in the process of panning once again a totally affordable means of fun for the whole family.
Shopping
We have a range of beautiful semi precious gifts and souvenirs you will treasure, at realistic prices. A wonderful collection is available for sale - many of which have been designed by our own company. Even the most passionate collectors will find something special to add to their natural or polished specimen collection.
We have a large selection of semi-precious stone pendants, bead necklaces and bracelets. Unique designs of sterling silver pendants, rings, bracelets, earrings etc…Set with quality faceted semi-precious gems and cabouchons.
Crystal Mountain welcomes visits from Bus Tours. We have a special group menu with discounted food options for groups of 20 or more. Groups can also benefit from discounted rates to the Crystal Mine Museum.
We also welcome Club groups utilizing the Crystal Mountain facility for their Mid-winter or end of year functions. Special Buffet menus are available to provide a wonderful meal in a truly unique environment.
With delicious food, beautiful products, and plenty to see and do, Crystal Mountain is a must for the whole family to visit.
