We go canyoning in some of New Zealand's most stunning national and regional parks. Abseiling-rappeling down awesome waterfalls, jumping of cliffs into deep crystal-clear pools and sliding down polished rock chutes, all this in a prehistoric subtropical environment.
Between the Sleeping God canyon and the Blue canyon there is a canyoning adventure for everyone and anyone, so start your adventure here and now!
BLUE CANYON If you are after adventure this is definitely one of Auckland’s must do activities! This is one of the Auckland’s premier Wilderness-outdoor adventures.
Blue Canyon has 18 waterfalls, ranging in height from 2 to 25 meters (7 to 82 feet). The water has carved perfect pools into the dark volcanic rock, creating the most amazing shapes.
Spend the day sliding down natural hydro slides, abseiling-rappelling down mystical waterfalls and getting some airtime with the awesome jumps into deep crystal-clear pools.
The Blue canyon is an exhilarating fun and playful trip, not to be missed.
Located in the heart of the Waitakare rainforest only 45 min drive from Downtown Auckland.
The Blue Canyon trip has to be one of Auckland's best outdoor adventures. It is a unique aquatic playground with waterfalls, slides, jumps and abseils down a scenic gorge hidden in lush rain forest. It combines a fun day of adventure activities, with one of the best opportunities to discover and enjoy a rich cross-section of Auckland's most distinctive natural environments, including sea, native forest and ancient volcanoes.
SLEEPING GOD CANYON This is the most adventurous canyon yet equipped in the region very close to Auckland. The canyon is very steep, with huge waterfalls, and very deep pools. It is long and big enough to satisfy the most demanding adventurer, but can also be attempted by many. The natural surroundings in the Kauaeranga Valley are simply outstanding, towering remnants of ancient volcanoes densely clad in regenerating forest, with ancient volcanic chimneys, dykes, and lava lakes now forming the highest summits.
This tour is aimed at people with a real taste of adventure and a good level of fitness (not unfit). This is an all day tour leaving Auckland at 7am and returning at about 7.30-8.00pm. Big jumps are optional, Abseils-rappels are not. All gear is provided along with expert guides, transport and the occasional bad joke.
