Our Auckland Highlights afternoon tour starts from the Ferry Terminal in Devonport - an historic suburb on the north side of Auckland's Waitemata Harbour. You will need to make your own way over to Devonport on the Fullers Ferry - which in itself is a great trip allowing you to see the huge cruise ships from water level against the back drop of the downtown Auckland skyline. Quaint Devonport has a great range of boutique shops and eateries, so you may choose to arrive earlier to explore on your own before the tour.

Tickets for the Fullers Ferry can be booked at the Ferry Terminal - the same place where the majority of cruiseships berth.

Upon departing Devonport we will explore some of the volcanic cones of the North Shore allowing some stunning views back over the water to the city. From the North Shore we cross over Auckland Harbour Bridge, the only road crossing to the south side and in itself a New Zealand icon offering extensive views of the harbour and marina far below.

Traversing the city centre we pass the Sky Tower (New Zealand's tallest structure) to the Auckland Domain - Auckland's oldest public park. We take a moment here to reflect on past battles involving New Zealand troops at the Cenotaph and learn a little of the area's history.

Continuing east we drop back down to the shore line at Mission Bay, one of Auckland's most affluent areas and begin our return to the ship along the waterfront. The journey along Tamaki Drive commands breathtaking views of Auckland's waterside suburbs, harbour and islands.

Time allowing we will visit Bastion Point, the location of Maori conflict and resistance and now home to the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial. From here you will get uninterrupted views far out into the Hauraki Gulf.

It's not far back to the city from Bastion Point, where we drop you off at the cruise terminal.
