Auckland City Sights including Kelly Tarlton's & Harbour Cruise

Escape the city and cruise the sparkling waters of Auckland's beautiful harbour and take in the harbour sites including the historic township of Devonport, the harbour bridge and the New Zealand Naval base.

Auckland sits upon 48 dormant volcanoes situated on a narrow isthmus between two harbours, the sparkling Waitemata to the east and the brooding Manukau to the west. Known as the City of Sails, it is New Zealand's largest city. Your tour takes in Queen Street, Auckland's 'Golden Mile', stunning views of the harbour and yacht marina from the Auckland Harbour Bridge and to the summit of Mount Eden, the city's most prominent volcanic cone with its 360 views of the city.

Next stop is Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World. Plunge under Auckland's waterfront and you'll discover spectacular secrets of the Southern Ocean and see the magic of an Antarctic fantasyland, complete with Penguins strutting in fresh snow and ice!Head for the Antarctic Encounter, where you'll be taken back in time to the life-sized replica hut of intrepid South Pole explorer Captain Robert Falcon Scott.

Come out of the hut and into an Antarctic snowcat, where you're transported to a magical world of snow and ice. Frolicking in the white wilderness is a colony of sub-Antarctic Penguins. From your snowcat, you'll get a fantastic fish eye view of the birds as they swim underwater.After your Antarctic encounter; head to the Amazon tank to view the deadly Piranha. Now step onto the moving walkway in the Underwater World, you'll come face-to-face with a Broadnosed Sevengill Shark, proudly displaying some of the most powerful jaws on the planet.

Following your city highlights tour, hop onboard a Fuller's Harbour Cruise and gain a new perspective of the city as you glide past the city waterfront, through the sparkling waters of Auckland's beautiful Waitemata Harbour and learn about the city's best-loved landmarks with full commentary from the knowledgeable crew. Included is a stopover in the township of Devonport, which is rich in military history, serving today as the base for New Zealand's Navy. Enjoy the wide range of beaches, restaurants and art galleries in this fascinating village.

Finish the day with a visit to the Auckland domain, where you can walk or relax in peaceful garden setting before returning by coach to the Discover New Zealand Travel Centre at 3.00pm.
