Visiting Wilson House is a special and unique experience. A short drive down a winding road between old Kauri trees, the house is set in a peaceful valley close to the picturesque village of Warkworth, less than an hours drive from Auckland. Built in the Italianate style in 1904, and fully restored, Wilson House now operates as both a beautiful boutique Bed and Breakfast and as a retail gallery for Tapestry Décor.
Here at Wilson House you will discover a treasure trove of European Tapestries and Canvas Art prints in our ‘Tapestry Décor' gallery. You will encounter not only a unique retail experience, with nothing else like it in New Zealand, but you can also enjoy our hospitality with a memorable ‘olde world style' Bed & Breakfast stay in our gracious ‘Wilson House' guest room.

The extensive gardens have been restored and are enjoyed by our guests. The library is for guest use, and a short walk to the river to see the ruins may be necessary after our full breakfast! Breakfast is enjoyed on the terrace during the summer months or otherwise in the morning room.
Guests have access to kitchen facilities for tea and coffee making and private use of the lovely library and sitting room.
Warkworth is the heart of the Matakana Wine Country, and home to a flourishing wine industry. There are a number of vineyards open daily to taste the local ‘drop', and the fabulous local fresh cuisine. The extensive coastline close by offers a number of experiences from cafes, restaurants, galleries, horse riding on the beach, glass bottom boat trips, swimming, fishing etc. - something for everyone!
Wilson House is an ideal place for a relaxing weekend getaway, and the perfect base for exploring the wonderful Matakana region. Your hosts Brian and Christa look forward to welcoming you to Wilson House for a truly memorable experience.
