If you are looking for the ultimate NZ wilderness experience, you have come to the right place. Bridge to Nowhere Lodge is situated deep in the Whanganui National Park wilderness region. Perched high above the Whanganui River, the Lodge is surrounded by native bush and has magnificent views. It is the only accommodation of its kind in the area. Explore our property, enjoy bush and farm walks, visit with our animals. Take a canoe across to Tieke Marae and learn about the early Maori or just sit and listen to tales of life on the river and relax and soak up the view. In the evening take a stroll and discover our glow worms or capture the magic of the bush from the comfort of the balcony. Awaken to the sounds of the birds and enjoy your breakfast while watching the mist roll off the river for the beginning of another beautiful day. There are NO ROADS to us. Options for getting to us are by our jet boat, canoeing, tramping or helicopter. Simply Unique! Guest Accommodation and the Lodge The Lodge can sleep aprox 20 people and has 7 bedrooms. A combination of comfortable double / twin / family and bunk rooms are available. Rooms have magnificent bush and river views with French doors opening onto the balcony. Fully Catered We have a fully catered option suitable for those travellers who would like a little luxury and to be completely looked after. Comfortable beds, fluffy towels and delicious buffet meals. Double, twin and family (bunk) rooms available. Lodge accommodation fully catered - ideal for trampers, canoeists, guests staying extra nights. Package includes: comfortable accommodation, buffet dinner, breakfast. Dining and Fully Licensed Bar We serve delicious meals presented as a generous buffet with something to suit every taste; venison, wild game, vegetarian and BBQs. Our licensed bar offers a selection of New Zealand wines and beers to complement your meal. Enjoy your meals in the dining room or on the balcony overlooking the river. Self Catered Backpacking For those of you who would like the comfort of the Lodge without the cost, self catering is the way to go. This is ideal for anyone but especially a well deserved treat for trampers and canoeists. We supply:
Our privately owned Bridge to Nowhere Campground is situated on part of our 1500 acre farm "Ramanui" It is about about 100 meters up stream from our Lodge on the same side of the river, so if you are canoeing you will see it first. A short walk up from the river takes you to the campground which is nestled amongst the bush. Large terraced grass areas are ideal for camping. Facilities serviced daily.
