Waiorau Homestead is nestled on picturesque farmland in the heart of the Cardrona Valley, close to both Wanaka and Queenstown.

Waiorau Homestead is situated two minutes from the access roads to three ski fields - the Cardrona Alpine Resort, Snow Farm and Snow Park NZ. It is also less than 2 kilometres from the world famous Cardrona Hotel - New Zealand's oldest hotel, well known for its apres-ski. Coronet Peak and The Remarkables ski fields are just 40 minutes to the South, with Treble Cone ski field 30 minutes to the North.
The inaugural Winter Games NZ will be held at both Cardrona Alpine Resort (Snowboard and Freestyle Ski events) and Snow Farm (Biathlon and Cross Country Skiing) from August 21-30 2009. The Homestead is ideally located for easy access to both theses ski fields.
Your Hosts
Your hosts, Blyth and Ann, have extensive background in the hospitality industry including a number of years in some of New Zealand's most well known tourist resorts and have now settled in the beautiful Central Otago area. They invite you to join them to enjoy the wonderful ambience of their homestead and warmest hospitality.
Blyth and Ann are happy to escort you on your Central Otago experiences. Blyth is an experienced fisherman, hunter and outdoors enthusiast. Ann can guide you to local activities - best shopping and wineries being top of the list!
Accommodation
After your day exploring the Wanaka region, choose from one of our warm and inviting luxurious boutique bedrooms. Each room is individually decorated with iconic New Zealand themes, including artworks from local Central Otago artists.
The finest linen and goosedown underlays, duvets, quilts and pillows are used to dress the lodge's extra comfortable beds. The bathrooms all have under-floor heating, heated mirrors, towelling robes, luxurious towels, hair dryers and boutique bathroom products.
You can take in the stunning views onto the garden and surrounding mountains from the adjoining decks on all the guest bedrooms.
Harakeke room - Flax room
The Harakeke family-sized room offers supreme comfort. This spacious room is decorated in the warm and natural colours which reflect the distinctive Central Otago terrain.
This bedroom can sleep up to 3 people with a King/ twin single bed and an additional single bed.
Luxuriate in bubbles in the spa bath at the end of a day of skiing, hiking or wherever your travels have taken you.
Toiletries are provided in the large private bathroom to make your stay comfortable.
TV/DVD and wireless internet access are all available in the room.
Kahurangi room - Blue room
The colours of the surrounding mountains and lakes are reflected in the contemporary peacock blue and turquoise tones of this boutique queen-size room.
Take in the stunning mountain views of Mt Cardrona while you enjoy a gourmet breakfast from the privacy of your own deck, or simply watch a stunning sunrise from the luxury of your warm bed.
The fully appointed ensuite bathroom has luxury towels, soft robes and toiletries for your personal use.

Hukapapa Room - Falling snow room
Relax in the stylish and soothing surroundings of the soft grey and cream tones of the Hukapapa Room.
Your Queen bed is so wonderfully comfortable, your sleep so tranquil - you may not wish to leave it! French doors take you onto the adjoining deck with views onto the garden, woodland and adjacent stream.
The ensuite bathroom is tastefully decorated with Italian tiles and stocked with fluffy towels, robes and boutique products.
TV/DVD and wireless internet access are all available in the room.
