Kiwi Paka is situated in the heart of Waitomo Caves on School Road, a two minute walk to the glowworm caves. Set on three acres Kiwi Paka is in a lovely setting overlooking hills and native bush.
Rooms:
The lodge has a combination of quad, triple, twin and double rooms all with share bathrooms. There are no bunk beds and the rooms are clean and spacious. They are heated and so warm and cosy in the winter with a nice outlook to native bush on the horizon.
The communal kitchen provides everything you require for cooking, all you need to bring is your food. The second floor includes a large relaxing reading room with internet access, and a television and games room is always open for your enjoyment. This area opens onto a large deck and garden.
Discover the atmosphere of the Morepork Cafe, famous for fantastic pizzas. The north facing deck takes full advantage of the sun - the perfect place to have lunch or enjoy a drink with your meal. The Morepork cafe uses the freshest ingredients from local purveyors in the region.

Glowworm Caves - Just two minutes walk from Kiwi Paka is the famous glowworm cave. This awe-inspiring journey through the cave is a once in a lifetime. Suitable for all ages the caves and the glowworms are a must.
Waitomo Caves Museum - A hours browse here will give you a great insight into local history, cave formation and the development of tourism in the region. The hands on museum also includes a half hour audio visual show. It is great value for money and has won awards.
Take a walk - Not everything has a price tag. Waitomo has fantastic native bush walks, at night time you can see glow-worms and hear the birds singing goodnight. The Ruakuri walkway is one of New Zealand's best short walks. Collect your gumboots and torches from Kiwi Paka. You may decide to take a Morepork pizza for a picnic.
Linen and Towels
You are welcome to bring your own sleeping bag or linen, however you can get sheets from Kiwi Paka for a $2 one off charge or pay a $10 deposit for a towel.

There washers and dryers available for you to use, and a fresh air clothesline.
