Sublime Lodge and vineyard in the Waitaki Valley, Oamaru, offers a unique romantic getaway, where you can relax in the beautiful surrounds of the mountains, river and vineyards. Sublime Lodge, and your hosts Steve and Fenella, recently featured in New Zealand House and Garden's April 2010 issue. Guest Accommodation and Facilities Sublime Lodge offers a bed and delicious breakfast. We have a double and twin room with ensuite bathroom in its own wing with stunning views, private dining room and open log fire for your relaxation. All rooms open on to the balcony where you can sit and sample our premium wines and enjoy the stunning scenery. We like to offer a very private experience for one couple, or family groups only. We have a tennis court and Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, Swimming, Lakes and Rivers are all around us. There is a Health Spa and Golf course 10 minutes away in Kurow. Skiing at the Ohau Ski lodge is 55 minutes up the road. Fenella produces her renown "Taste of Waitaki" dinners of all delicious and fresh local ingredients. Children are welcome and we have a playground for them to play on and enough space to exhaust themselves! We are a farm and have animals all around so dogs are welcome - if they don't chase chicken or sheep (we have a lock up kennel). The Winery Your hosts Steve Harrop and Fenella Barry are the proud owners of Sublime Wines. The vineyard is situated on a very steep north facing terrace of The Waitaki Valley in North Otago. In 2003, Fenella and Steve moved with their two young children to the Waitaki Valley for the wine industry. Fenella has been a huge local advocate for all things Waitaki, and she organised the very successful 'Taste of Waitaki' events which matched the local wine with the best of local produce. These events have been credited for putting the North Otago region on the wine map. At Sublime Lodge, Fenella is offering a true Taste of Waitaki while you can relax in the beautiful surrounds of the mountains, river, and vineyards, and a Taste of Waitaki dinner menu is also available. | ||||||
