We warmly welcome you to luxury apartments situated at beautiful Waihau Bay, in the Bay of Plenty. This safe and sandy beach is considered by many to be the best on the East Cape. It is a great place for a family beach holiday, with a lovely wide flat sandy beach, with no rips- so perfect for swimming! It is also an excellent beach for kayaking in the surf, and we have a range of kayaks available to suit the whole family.
The area offers excellent fishing and diving, along with beautiful scenery for nature lovers, or those who just want to get away and relax. The apartments are situated in a small coastal bay, with all required amenities immediately to hand, while still isolated enough to be removed from the hustle and bustle of modern day life.
Beautiful Waihau Bay is located a 1.5 hour drive from Opotoki, and an easy 3 hour drive from Gisborne. On your arrival, settle in and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine, beer or juice, whilst enjoying the relaxing atmosphere.

Accommodation
Accommodation comprises two self contained motel units and a stand alone 'Kiwi' bach. The Units have separate bedrooms and will sleep up to seven people, and the bach will sleep eight.
We provide upon request either continental or fully cooked breakfasts, dinners and picnic lunches. Jan loves cooking and her specialty is seafood which is so abundant in this area. A selection of wines and beer are available as an accompaniment to your meal.
Each accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen, separate bedrooms, TV, DVD, Movies, outdoor furniture and BBQ facilities.
The sections are fully fenced, and are located just across the road from the magnificent beach.
Fishing
Superb land based fishing is available for your enjoyment almost on the doorstep of your apartment, with your choice of cast or rock fishing. Or, if you like line, or big game fishing, your host can arrange a charter boat for the day. From December to May, as water temperatures rise, the Waihau Bay Fishing Club is Host to several game fishing tournaments. The club provides weigh-in facilities and a wide three boat ramp.
Diving
The East Cape of New Zealand is known for its beautiful diving scenery and abundance of crayfish. Because of the regions remoteness, the area is relatively untouched. The area is also well known for quality diving. A variety of seafood, including mussels paua, and crayfish is available for
both free and tank divers.
Kayaks
We have a range of kayaks available to suit the whole family. If you have always wanted to try kayaking, we will have you paddling confidently in no time!
Around Waihau Bay
Swimming beaches, beautiful scenery, horse riding, boating, trekking and cultural activities are all available within half an hours drive of Waihau Bay.
White Island is an active volcano 40km off shore Guided tours to White Island are available from Whakatane, and promise an unforgettable experience.
We can arrange for your enjoyment Motu River Jet Boat tours, Horse Trekking in Hicks Bay or on Maungaroa Station, a visit to the local marae, Historical walks on Cape Runaway, or direct you to scenic walks within the area
