Welcome to Clouston House Luxury Bed and Breakfast Accommodation in Upper Hutt, New Zealand. At Clouston House, our home offers privacy and seclusion, yet is still conveniently located for central Wellington and the wine region of Martinborough. On your arrival you will be welcomed by your hosts Joe & Harriet Fraser. Start unwinding with a glass of New Zealand wine on the deck overlooking our farm and the hillsides beyond. Stretch your legs and stroll around our 10 acre farm. Watch the resident fantails and tuis (NZ native birds) who may greet you with their song in the morning. Enjoy the peace and tranquility, meander along the river bank listening to the soothing sounds of the pure water running over the stones, daring you to dip your toes in! Come back and ease those tired muscles from your journey by relaxing in our outdoor spa. Accommodation and Guest Rooms We have two guest suites available, the Tui Suite and the Fern Suite. Both suites are located on the ground floor with valley and garden views. Stylishly furnished with local Wellington Art, floral arrangements, native timber furniture, and king-size beds with quality cotton linen, laden with pillows and cushions for your comfort and topped with a beautifully quilted bedspread. Each suite includes its own seating area with television, DVD and CD player, coffee and tea making facilities, fridge, dressing gowns, writing desk and hair dryer. Contrasting hill and valley views from the outdoor deck, accessed via French windows and furnished with a table and chairs. The luxurious and expansive bathrooms are a real highlight, comprising a large double bath, separate shower, endless hot water and a wide range of toiletries. Perfectly set out for maximum comfort and relaxation. At the end of the day lie back in a rejuvenating bubble bath ... with a glass of wine! Breakfast and Dining Breakfast includes fresh orange juice, espresso coffee or your choice of teas, home baking and free-range eggs served in the dining area overlooking the garden. Three course dinners accompanied by fine New Zealand wines are available on request as are lunch platters or picnic hampers. Location and Activities At Clouston House, our home offers privacy and seclusion, yet is still conveniently located for central Wellington and the wine region of Martinborough. For plant lovers, our guests have complimentary access to the Efil Doog Rhododendron and Sculpture Garden. For those out for more of an adventure, sandy beaches, central Wellington or the Wairarapa Region famous for the Martinborough Vineyards await within 45 minutes drive.
