Welcome to our holiday house in Russell, in the beautiful Bay of Islands, New Zealand. A very good standard of comfortable, cottage accommodation, centrally located on the beautiful Russell peninsular. Right in the heart of the fabulous Bay of Islands in Northland, New Zealand, with it's beautiful beaches and fabulous climate.
Comfortable furnishings and modern appliances make our holiday house like a ‘home away from home’, to make the days & nights as restful and as enjoyable as possible. Fully self-contained, self catered cottage style accommodation, with everything supplied.
An open-plan living / dining area with cathedral ceiling and loft bedroom - give a ‘ski-lodge’ ambience. The ceiling fan creates a pleasant breeze in summer, and the log fire creates a romantic cosy atmosphere in the cooler fall and winter months. Satelite TV in the living area and master bedroom.
There is sleeping acommodation for up to 9 people in comfort, consisting of: one double bedroom, with queen bed; one single bedroom, with one set of bunk beds; one loft bedroom with a queen bed (converts to two single beds if required) plus a single bed; and one double sofa bed in the living area. A portacot is also supplied for baby.
The fully equipped kitchen features new 'Fisher & Paykel' appliances, including full sized stove, microwave oven, grill, bread-maker; and refrigerator/freezer. A 3-burner gas BBQ on the back deck. Outdoor table, chairs and sun-umbrella are provided.
Bathroom comprises shower, hand basin, and a separate toilet. New 'Fisher & Paykel' appliances are provided for laundry, including top-loading washing machine and front-loading clothes dryer.
Romantic Russell village is less than 10 minutes walk away, where you can explore the many cafes, restaurants, bars and shops on the waterfront. Kororareka Bay (Russell Beach) is a fine stoney beach, wonderful for swimming, family picnics, lunch on the beach etc. Picturesque Russell harbour is a popular mooring spot for local and visiting yachts.
Nearby Matauwhi Bay is about 5 minutes walk away. Matauwhi Bay is a very popular mooring bay for local and visiting yachts, and is home for the Russell Boating Club. In early January every year the Russell Boating Club hosts ‘The Tall Ships’ race, followed in the evening by a sumptuous traditional ‘hangi’ , with a live band and dancing under a huge marquee.
Oneroa Bay (Long Beach) is an ocean beach just a 10 minute walk over to the east side of the peninsula. The adjacent Waitata Beach is a nudy beach - for those sun-loving bods ! Tapeka Point is another popular ocean beach, about 5 minutes drive to the northern tip of the Russell peninsular.
