Welcome to Lakeview Heights near Rotorua. We offer superior accommodation at reasonable prices for families or the single traveller.
The dining room has amazing views over the lake; the lounge has a log burning stove for the cooler evenings, and Sky TV; and there is garden seating for dining and relaxing to enjoy the peace and tranquility during your stay.
Fine views across Lake Rotorua to the volcanic Mount Tarawera in the distance and eastward to the coast bordered by the Te Waerenga Scenic Reserve with many native trees and ferns, as well as farmland with herds of deer, sheep and cattle. Common visitors to the garden include tuis, bellbirds and wax-eyes. Relax in our well established garden of camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons. Pick your own lemon for the evening gin and tonic.
Come and experience our country lifestyle - visit our calves, sheep and lambs and Arab endurance horses, not to mention our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Penny and Fluff the house cat! In spring we usually have pet lambs to feed and another foal is due in November 2010.
Guest Accommodation and Facilities
Our spacious and comfortable home has three guest rooms - On the first floor the Rotorua room has a balcony with extensive views, fridge and tea / coffee facilities and private bathroom. The Tarawera room has a queen bed and ensuite bathroom, also with fridge etc. Both of these rooms have lovely views over the lake and beyond to Mount Tarawera. The twin bedded room is on the ground floor overlooking the lawns and mature garden with flowering shrubs.
Rates include teas and coffee and a delicious full or continental breakfast. A home-cooked evening meal can be provided by prior arrangement.
Things to Do
Only 5 minutes from the Hamurana 9 hole Golf Course with a lovely walk through Redwood trees to the Hamurana Spring. The crystal clear river has Rainbow trout with the banks home to many wild birds.
Only 10 minutes from the Kaituna river, famous for white water rafting and kayaking.
Your host Liz competes and breeds Arab horses, and welcomes other enthusiasts. Accompanied horse riding for experienced riders only can be arranged.
