Welcome to Kuirau Lodge, Rotorua. Situated in a secure landscaped section adjacent to the Utuhina stream (one of Lake Rotorua's major tributaries and spawning grounds for Rainbow trout) Kuirau Lodge provides peace and tranquility and a relaxed atmosphere for guests. The Lodge is only ten minutes' walk through Kuirau Thermal Park (from which the Lodge takes its name) to the central business and shopping facilities of Rotorua.

Relax and enjoy the Homestyle experience. A home away from home, informal and friendly accommodation at its best. Walk in the garden or soak in the heated pool or thermal spa. Play tennis or enjoy pre-dinner nibbles and conversation with a glass of wine, or relax in the lounge with a book and a cup of tea or coffee. Dinner and breakfast can be offered by arrangement.

Built in 1984 the Lodge was designed and built by Lockwood homes (an internationally recognised construction company). An all-wood home, it incorporates interior walls made from native Matai timber which exudes ambience and warmth. This, combined with the thermal central heating and double glazed windows, means a pleasant internal environment is enjoyed year round.

Accommodation

The lodge offers double and twin bedroom accommodation in the main house with guest share bathrooms or ensuite options. A double studio unit with kitchenette and ensuite and a one bedroom self contained chalet are also available.

Facilities

A formal guest lounge, complete with full home theatre facilities, provides a relaxed atmosphere for guests to unwind.
A full size tennis court (flood-lit for night) is available for the more sports orientated, along with a basketball net.
A fourteen metre heated freshwater swimming pool allows guests all year round swimming. Complete with water slide and waterfall, the pool is surrounded by palm trees which provides a tropical setting. A thermal mineral spa adjacent to the pool can be filled on demand, offering a pleasant way to soak away the aches and pains. Landscaping and lighting provide selective mood changes as day turns to night.
A large north-facing deck provides covered and open areas to relax on and enjoy pre-dinner drinks and succulent appetisers, or just soak up the ambience of the area.
Through the back gate, the Utuhina Stream provides a tranquil area to enjoy the local wildlife. Feed the ducks, swan and pukeko or, during the season and provided you have a fishing license, cast a fly into the waters and chance catching a rainbow trout.

The Lodge provides courtesy transport to and from the city, hotel or local airport, and secure off-street parking is provided. There are car washing facilities.

Your hosts are happy to offer advice on, and arrange tours for, the many and varied local attractions.
