Situated on the tip of Kawaha Point, a private, peaceful location, just five minutes drive from Rotorua City Centre. Our unique lakefront retreat nestles in an established garden setting with panoramic views over Lake Rotorua to Mokoia Island, Mt Tarawera and beyond.
Sheltered from the prevailing winds, and away from traffic noise and sulphur fumes, Koura Lodge makes for a stress free, relaxing holiday. The Lodge offers a variety of luxury accommodation, with all 10 rooms featuring magnificent lake views and private ensuites. Every room opens onto deck areas and feature uninterrupted lake views. There are a variety of Accommodation options to best suit your requirements and Gift vouchers are also available.
Adjacent to your room you will find a kitchenette, including microwave, small fridge and kettle. In addition to complimentary tea and coffee, our mini-bar is stocked with locally made wine and beer.
The Lodge offers a choice of two lounge areas, both featuring Finnish soapstone wood fires. Whether you are playing Chess, reading or quietly watching TV, the lounges at Koura Lodge will make you feel at home.
Lodge technology is right up to date with high speed internet access available in both complexes. Every room is fitted with an LCD TV and DVD player.
Koura Lodge also offers The Lakeview Premium Family Apartment,Koura Lodge's supreme accommodation option. Offering two spacious bedrooms, expansive lounge and dining with awe-inspiring views over Lake Rotorua, a fully equipped kitchen, large dining table and a slate based billiards table.
A popular booking option for small groups or large families is to book one of our two complexes exclusively, providing total privacy for your group.

Koura Lodge provides a broad range of facilities to cater for your holiday. Sporting, adventure, sightseeing or relaxing, you will find the Lodge surroundings idyllic for your activity.
The lake-edge open-air spa pool, sauna and on-site massage provide the perfect way to relax after a days sightseeing, and for something more energetic enjoy a game of tennis on our flood lit championship size Astro-turf court.
Lake Rotorua is known as one of the greatest rainbow and brown trout fisheries in New Zealand and is open year round to anglers. Guests are able to fish from the private Lodge jetty or take a fishing charter, and Koura Lodge has a selection of safe and stable canoes for you to enjoy paddling the shores of Lake Rotorua.
Probably our most popular activities are scenic helicopter and floatplane flights to some of the regions most active volcanic areas. Take the Floatplane from Koura Lodge's jetty, or be transferred by a short water taxi ride to the lake edge helicopter pad.
Koura Lodge is also a magnificent site for a special occasion, annual meeting or teram-building event, offering 180 metres of private waterfront and two acres of manicured lawn and gardens. Koura Lodge offers accommodation for up to 20 people, and caters for a wedding party of up to 30 people.
