We invite you to stay at Froude Hall, our lovely renovated character cottage in the heart of Whakarewarewa, Rotorua. Froude Hall is cosy and comfortable, with 2 bedrooms, a luxury bathroom, well equipped kitchen, and spacious lounge.
Froude Hall is affordable accommodation with a touch of luxury, and is great for those travelling with children and needing a bit more space.
We can also specialize in longer stays, and the Tariffs per night decrease when you stay longer!
Froude Hall is within walking distance of Te Puia's famous geysers and the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, the Maori Thermal Village, Whaka Forest and the Redwood Grove, the forest science research organizations, Scion and Ensis, Arikikapakapa Rotorua Golf Club and several cafes, restaurants and shops.
Facilities
Completely renovated in 2005, Froude Hall has a brand new bathroom and modern appliances. The lounge has a comfortable suite and a TV with DVD player. There is also a small desk table with a phone and a ergonomic office chair. The fully equipped kitchen/dining is cosy but spacious with a large dining table, and the house is equipped with full laundry facilities.
The house is warm in winter and cool in summer, and when the sun is shining, it is lovely to sit on the picnic table on the large deck reached through our french doors.
Froude Hall is ideally suited for one or two couples, family or other groups. Each of the two bedrooms has a queen and a single bed. There is also a roll-away slat bed, so up to 7 can be accommodated. Linens are supplied and beds are made up for your arrival. After that, the house is self catering. We ask that you leave the house as clean and tidy as you found it; all cleaning supplies are provided. Froude Hall is smoke free, and, sorry, no pets are allowed.
Froude Hall would suit visitors interested in Rotorua's wonderful sights, especially Rotorua's Maori culture. It is also a favorite with mountain bikers, with it's close proximity to Whaka Forest. Families and other groups coming to Rotorua for sports and other activities also are attracted to our holiday house. But Froude Hall is is also well suited to the business traveller, especially those visiting the forestry research centres, Scion and Ensis.
Things to Do
Rotorua is a great place to visit! The geothermal features of the landscape are awe inspiring, the town is lovely with a thriving cafe culture, the natural beauty of the area is stricking, and adventure activities abound! Froude Hall is just outside the LIving Maori Thermal Village, one of Rotorua's premier geothermal and cultural attractions.
Also within walking distance is Whaka Forest, which is known far and wide as a special place to mountain bike. A highlight for anyone is the Redwood Grove, where the size and beauty of the trees rivals the coastal redwoods of California.
