Large comfortable rooms provide you with a place to rest and relax in peace and tranquillity, while sheep, ostriches and deer graze on the green paddocks surrounding the house.
Clover Downs gives you an unparalleled opportunity to get up close to farm animals. Take the complimentary farm tour, feed ostriches by hand, see trained sheep dogs rounding up sheep, pat a deer and get within a few feet of a magnificent elk stag. In the evenings, enjoy a glass of wine on your own private veranda overlooking lush pasture.
Your hosts, Lyn and Lloyd Ferris, will ensure that your retreat is comfortable and memorable. They can also help arrange other activities so that you can experience all that Rotorua has to offer - geothermal wonderlands with geysers and bubbling mud pools, the rich Maori culture, excellent fishing, sightseeing and other exciting pursuits. Or you can travel further afield to Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Whakatane, Taupo and Waitomo.

Facilities
The four suites at Clover Downs Estate are private and very generously sized. They are tastefully decorated and offer unsurpassed levels of comfort to make your stay truly relaxing.
All four bedrooms have king or super-king beds, ensuite bathrooms, and open to private outdoor decks with lake or farm views.
Facilities include: bathrobes, toiletries, tea and coffee, mini bar, refrigerator, TV, video and stereo unit, telephone, hairdryer, heater and ceiling fan. Guests have access to laundry facilities and fax and wireless internet is also available.
Enjoy a full continental breakfast with homemade preserves and a variety of breads, croissants and muffins, either in the family room or alfresco overlooking the farm in summer.
Rooms are serviced daily and are available in single, double, triple and family configurations.
Things to Do
Clover Downs is so much more than just accommodation; it's a complete New Zealand experience. Lyn and Lloyd provide a complimentary farm tour, sharing their farming experience, and giving you a fascinating insight into farm life.
From the farm, Lyn and Lloyd can organise other memorable adventures, including sightseeing helicopter rides from the farm and guided fishing expeditions (river and lake fishing - including fly-fishing). You can even have your own tour guide for sightseeing, or be picked up from Clover Downs to enjoy a traditional Maori hangi concert and feast.
