Azur is a luxury retreat in Queenstown, New Zealand. It is one of New Zealand's few real luxury accommodation providers, on par with New Zealand's finest luxury lodges, an inspiring luxury hotel in Queenstown. It would be hard to imagine a more perfect view than the one from Azur Lodge. Newly opened in December 2004, and perched on a hillside five minutes drive from the centre of Queenstown, Azur is a beautiful property set amongst 3.5 acres of native bush, which features a magnificent lodge and nine 90 sqm freestanding villas. It captures the best of both worlds: amazing views and a tranquil & isolated setting, yet only 5 minutes' drive from downtown Queenstown. The Villas Each villa is made from silver beechwood to complement its surroundings. The villas boast uninterrupted views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables mountains. Floor to ceiling windows take full advantage of the breathtaking scenery, as does the large outside deck - ideal for enjoying those warm summer's evenings! Each villa offers total comfort and privacy as well as a generous 90 square metre area in which to relax. At one end of the villa, a king bed is perfectly positioned to enjoy the views, whilst at the other, the cosy living area contains comfortable lounge seating, dining table and chairs and a gas fireplace, set in floor to ceiling picture windows. Super king beds feature 300 thread count Egyptian cotton linen, and hypoallergenic goose down pillows and duvets. Some villas can be split into twin configuration. Expect local wine on arrival, as well as a personal bar containing complimentary beer, soft drinks, juices, snacks and water. Spirits are provided at reasonable charge. Local and international books, magazines and newspapers, 32" flatscreen LCD television with 17 Sky Digital Satellite TV channels, DVD/CD player, Energie speakers and ipod connection are provided for your entertainment. A writing desk with office supplies, ethernet port and wireless broadband access, international electrical plug adaptors and three direct-dial telephones with their own direct dial phone numbers keep you connected during your stay. The indulgent underfloor heated bathroom houses a double spa bath with head pillows set in a private picture window offering stunning lake and mountain views, a rain forest shower and separate toilet. Complimentary bathroom amenities by Linden Leaves of New Zealand, aromatherapy oil burner and a selection of essential oils are provided along with luxurious towels, bathrobes and slippers. Rest assured that once inside your villa you just won't want to leave! The Lodge Azur's main lodge building houses the reception as well as a guest lounge where afternoon tea and pre-dinner drinks and canapés are served. Breakfast is served either in the main lodge or the privacy of your own villa. As the evening draws closer the attentive staff will happily drive you to one of Queenstown's fabulous restaurants, or arrange for a meal to be delivered to your villa.
