Welcome to Punakaiki Resort on the glorious West Coast. Punakaiki Resort is a modern accommodation complex located on Punakaiki Beach near the world famous Pancake Rocks and Blow Holes on the West Coast of the South Island. The resort has been designed to maximize the surrounding environment with beautiful ocean and rainforest views of the Paparoa National Park. Punakaiki Resort provides the perfect accommodation for local and international visitors whether you are planning a weekend escape or a full wedding event.
Punakaiki Resort Accommodation
Punakaiki Resort offers a wide range of accommodation to suit couples, families, groups and corporate guests. There are two styles of accommodation on offer: standard resort rooms, and luxury Eco-Suites. All rooms are architecturally designed to maintain a sense of privacy and maximise the incredible ocean and rainforest views while ensuring harmony with the local environment.
Eco-Suites
Slightly more spacious than our Standard Resort Rooms, these luxury suites are eco-friendly with ocean and/or rainforest views. With organically grown timbers, large solar panels, ecofleece insulation and energy saving devices, the suites have been designed and built to have minimal impact on the environment.
Standard Resort Rooms and Suites
Spacious, modern studio units with ensuite and featuring either an ocean and/or rainforest view, only meters from the beach. All feature a private balcony or courtyard.

Waterline Restaurant
The award winning Waterline Restaurant provides the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery. Floor-to-ceiling windows wrap around the restaurant for true beach-from dining. Alternatively, you can dine al fresco on the balcony, only metres from the crashing waves.
Things to Do
The Punakaiki area has many local activities and attractions for you to enjoy during your visit to this area. Most of these are within a short distance of the resort. The Paparoa Coast is famous for its magnificent, unspoiled wilderness beaches. Many of the beaches within close proximity of the Resort are perfect for jade hunting and beachcombing.
Punakaiki's top attraction has always been the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes. Only 300 metres north of the resort, the rocks and blowholes are an incredible geological formation that has been weathered into extraordinary shapes by wind and waves. The best time to visit the blowholes is at high tide when they are at their most powerful.
