Fernview Cottage is a beautifully restored historic villa built in the early 1900's. It is nestled in a private and peaceful part of the seaside town of Picton overlooking a large domain with native forest views, and is a stones throw from Picton's picturesque marina.
Owned and operated by Carlie and Greg, both have had many years working in the hospitality and tourism industry here in New Zealand as well as abroad.
Guest Accommodation and Facilities
After a hard day's sightseeing you will find our two bedroom Bed and Breakfast to be very spacious and comfortable, and the private guest lounge is the perfect place to sit and unwind. Take a glass of wine onto the veranda and listen to the native birds chorus as the sun goes down before wandering into Picton's lively centre for a meal in one of the wide selection of restaurants.

In our guest lounge you will find a large selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits,TV with choice of DVD's, Stereo with ipod docking station and selection of CD's, Library, Board games and a piano.
The continental breakfast consists of homemade breads/ croissiants, jams and spreads, muesli, cereals, yoghurt, seasonal fruit and a selection of tea's and fresh coffee, the perfect way to start the day!
We are only a ten minute walk from Picton's restaurants and shops, the short walk takes you through the marina and over a pedestrian bridge which allows stunning views over Picton harbour.
Fernview Cottage Bed and Breakfast is the ideal place to base yourself whilst in Picton, it is easily accessible to the Marlborough Sounds and the world famous winery region of Marlborough is right on our doorstep.
Queen Charlotte Track
If you are walking the Queen Charlotte Track, Fernview Cottage is a great place to stay before and after the walk. Your host Greg has extensive knowledge of the track's flora and fauna and will readily give you any tips and recommendations if so required. If you have any excess luggage you would like stored whilst on the walk you can leave it safely here. We also allow walkers to leave their vehicles on our off-street parking area.
Greg is also the owner/operator of Natural Encounters Walks, and he runs a variety of all inclusive guided and independent walking packages on the Queen Charlotte Track.
