The Peninsula is a 20 acre farm with a restored Dutch Barn overlooking the water and mountains. The Barn is a quiet lovely place bordering the beautiful Waimea Estuary and surrounded by vineyards and rolling pasture. Located on the secluded Hoddy Peninsula, the property enjoys a beautiful quiet country setting but is just a 10 minute drive from the shopping centre of Richmond and the galleries, restaurants and cafes of the Mapua Township, and only 15 minutes from Nelson.
It is perfectly located for those wanting to explore the region but still be within easy reach of Nelson.
The Peninsula operates as a small farm. Sheep graze the pasture amongst the apple trees, ducks live on the large pond and mature fruit and nut trees surround the house.
The Peninsula has a restored Dutch Gable Barn for guests to stay, in a unique setting overlooking the Waimea Estuary and Richmond Ranges.
What to do:

- kayak and row the boat on the estuary
- walk the farm and the Peninsula

A complimentary continental breakfast basket is provided with cereals, breads, milk, butter, fruit, eggs and conserves. The Barn also has a fully equipped kitchen and a gas BBQ for you to prepare your own meals should you wish.
When you stay at The Barn we can provide advice and assistance on a range of activities; but if you just wish to sit on the deck and watch the tide come in you’ll be left in peace to get on with it.
For those looking for an active break we provide kayaks, a two person dinghy if that’s more your thing, bicycles, and you are welcome to walk the property and the Peninsula.
