Milford Sound Lodge is the only accommodation in Milford Sound that caters to everyone. We offer a range of alternative accommodation options; luxury riverside chalets, cosy dorms, private twin or double rooms, as well as rainforest tent and campervan sites. All guests are welcome to use the lodge's facilities. Nestled beneath the towering peaks of the Darran Mountains, Milford Sound Lodge provides a fantastic base to experience the beauty and majesty of Fiordland National Park. Milford Sound is an essential part of any New Zealand holiday. Whether you are chasing adventure sports, or sightseeing by car, we can help you get the most out of your time in Fiordland. Riverside Chalets Experience the spectacular scenery of Fiordland National Park from the luxury of our modern riverside studio chalets. Sit back in the comfortable lounge and watch the sparkling waters of Cleddau River tumble by outside your window. Lie in the Super King-size bed and gaze in awe at the towering peaks rising up above the lush temperate rainforest. Soak away the aches and pains of a day's tramping or sea kayaking in the large bath. Other features include Sky TV with LCD TV/DVD and a modern kitchenette. Treat yourself to a bit of luxury away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist towns. Backpacker Style Rooms We have a range of dorm style bunk rooms which accommodate between 4 and 10 people. We provide a fitted sheet with a pillow and pillowcase. Bring your sleeping bag, or hire one of our duvets. These rooms are also centrally heated. We have double and twin rooms for those travellers who prefer a little more privacy. These rooms come with all linen, including duvets and towels, and are centrally heated. Camping Sites We have a variety of tent sites around the Milford Lodge complex. Some are hidden away in the temperate rainforest, while others offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. There is also a range of powered and unpowered sites for campervans. Some sites back on to the spectacular Cleddau River with views up and down the valley. Others are nestled between the trees in the temperate rainforest. Facilities When you stay at our lodge you can use our cozy lounge, hot showers, communal kitchen, cooking and dining facilities. We have coin operated washing machines, dryers and internet facilities. There is also a drying room for wet tramping gear. There is a little bar in the lodge. During reception hours we are happy to make you an excellent cup of coffee and in the morning we serve continental breakfast (not included). We are about 1.5 km from the Boat Terminal, a pleasant 25-30 minute walk. In summer we have scheduled shuttles that can drop you off and pick you up from the cafe and Boat Terminal. When it is quiet in winter we have an 'on demand' shuttle service for guests (you would need to inform our staff to arrange a shuttle). Milford Sound Activities Milford Sound is often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world for its overwhelming natural beauty and unique marine wildlife.
