Double Cove Retreat is one of the regions most exclusive luxury getaway destinations, nestled in the heart of Double Cove in the Marlborough Sounds. Step down through the terraced gardens of your lavish getaway and dip your toes into the relaxing waters off your own private landing. This stunning, private and tranquil setting provides the ideal location for corporate retreats, family getaways and intimate weddings.
Facilities
From the contemporary New Zealand art collection to the state of the art gourmet kitchen, the interior of this expansive split level property will exceed all of your expectations. We have left no stone unturned in providing five-star facilities and equipment, creating a luxurious and private environment in which for you to unwind and relax in style.
The properties four bedrooms are spread over its three levels. The master bedroom-a super-king double with spa bath, ensuite and private balcony is located on the upper level. A double and a twin-single room (sharing a bathroom and toilet) are located on the mezzanine level, and a king-double bedroom with ensuite and private deck is located on the lower level. All rooms are climate controlled and fitted with plasma screen TV's. Extra beds are available and all doubles split into two singles.
The retreat's gourmet kitchen with the latest European fittings is complimented by two outdoor barbeques and a wood-fired oven/grill. The interior dining area provides seating for up to twelve, with easy flow onto two further outdoor dining areas.
The formal lounge provides expansive views over the bay and features an open fire and seating for ten. A plasma screen TV, Bose lifestyle system, Sky TV receiver and media library provides entertainment to suit all tastes. Further entertainment can be found downstairs in the games room if you fancy a game of pool a board game, or strum on the guitar.
Formal conferencing can be set up in the day house although most corporate groups prefer to create a more informal conferencing area in the lounge. Facilities include whiteboards, computer input to plasma screens for presentations, wireless networking and a media centre with computer, printer, scanner and fax.
Activities
Pull up alongside Double Cove's own private jetty and be greeted by an extensive array of outdoor facilities and equipment: all available for your use and enjoyment. Whether out in the kayaks, on the donut or water skis, snorkelling, or taking the catamaran for a sail, the activities available at Double Cove Retreat will see even the most active members of your group spoilt for choice.
The waterfront area boasts a fully equipped day house, with ensuite, plasma screen TV and sound system. The waterfronts' expansive decks, outdoor hot tub, BBQ, and dining area, provide the ideal venue from which to make it a getaway to remember.
The retreat's fixed and floating jetties are able to accommodate vessels of up to 60 feet allowing fishing trips, sailing charters and launch tours to be carried out direct from the retreat. Or if you prefer to take in an aerial view of this breathtaking piece of New Zealand, why not take a scenic helicopter flight direct from our helipad.
Other onsite facilities include an air rifle, pistol and archery shooting range, and a fully maintained speedboat. There is also a 7 seater Toyota Prado available for your use.
Cuisine
Food at the retreat is provided on a self-catered basis, allowing guests to enjoy the experience of cooking fresh local produce in our gourmet kitchen. We shop to your requirements prior to your arrival and stock the kitchen with fresh food and quality beverages sourced locally where possible, and the staff are always just a phone call away to pick up and deliver extra provisions.
