Peace, privacy and tranquillity in Auckland. Lone Kauri Lodge Karekare is located in the Waitakere Ranges, an area of exceptional natural beauty. Here you will find black sand surf beaches, regenerating forest, waterfalls, walking tracks, stunning scenery and not too many people. Close to Karekare and Piha beaches, it is an ideal get away from the city. If you are from overseas then relax after your long flight before setting off to see the rest of New Zealand, or reflect on your visit before the trip home. If you are walking the recently opened Hillary Trail then Lone Kauri Lodge is an alternative accommodation option at the end of day 2. Guest Accommodation We offer comfortable ensuite accommodation with private entrance, guest lounge, complimentary wireless internet and beautiful native bush and sea views. The guest accommodation comprises two well appointed bedrooms; one with queen bed and the other with king or twin king singles, each with ensuite shower and toilet. For an extra person we have a comfortable roll out bed which fits in the king room. The spacious guest lounge contains Sky TV, DVD, CD Player, a selection of games and books and a fridge. Room rates include continental breakfast which can be served either in the guest lounge, on the deck outside your bedroom or in our central living area - it's up to you. A cooked breakfast can be provided for a small additional charge. If you want to do your own BBQ then our guest BBQ is available at no extra charge. Location Lone Kauri Lodge is approximately 50 minutes drive from the centre of Auckland and a similar time from Auckland International Airport. We are approximately 8 kms (a 10 to 15 minute drive) from both Piha with its renowned surf beach and Karekare where the Piano was filmed. | |||||||
