Looking for a friendly, relaxed, cosy place to stay on your journey through the Southern Scenic Route? Braemar Farmstay in Invercargill is just the place. Away from the bustle of the city, Braemar is a working farm and cut flower producer set in an expanse of newly planted garden.
Jean your hostess is a keen gardener, bowler and a Guilds qualified chef, so expect a hearty breakfast complete with home grown bacon, tomatoes and preserves.
Take a look around the flower growing operation. Visit the Tunnel Houses where the flowers are grown, and the Packing Shed/Farmshop where they are prepared and sold.
Enjoy your stay with views overlooking a scenic rural setting, and take a rare opportunity to meet the farm animals. Take a walk around the farm where the animals include cows, sheep, pigs, hens, 4 friendly cats and "Little One" the Donkey who likes visitors who have a carrot or apple for her to eat.
