Our location is convenient to international airports and provides the opportunity to relax and enjoy the greater Waikato and what it can offer. Accommodation and Facilities With over 20 suites sleeping from 2 - 8 persons there is a range of options. We can cater for around 100 persons in our restaurant and welcome group or function enquiries. All units have Sky TV, some with internet connections, telephone and tea making facilities with bar fridge. All bathrooms have hair dryers. We have 2 disabled units. A secure courtyard for kids to safely play with an area for roller blading etc.. The car park is fully fenced, and is lit up at night with security cameras operating constantly. Activities in Huntly There are so many things to do and fun activities in our region for you and your family to be part of. The Essex Arms is perfect accommodation for enjoying the newly built Hampton Downs Motorsport Park, a venue for top international motor racing, driver training, car clubs, conventions and events. A five minute drive takes you to the coalfields museum , where you can learn about our towns mining history, or why not take a train ride on the Pukemiro steam train. During the summer months Huntly Speedway offers a great Saturday night out. It's just 5 minutes north of the hotel. Or you can try the rodeo just 5 minutes south of the hotel. You can stop and spend a day at Waingaro Hot Springs where they have bumper boats, hydro slides, and trampolines together with an animal park.For those who like the outdoors, our area boasts lots of beautiful walkways. Two minutes from the hotel, take a walk around lake Hakanoa and check out the green cathedral. If you are into water sports, Weavers lake is a great place to go water skiing or biscuiting.
