Located on New Zealand's West Coast, Rimu Lodge is a purpose built luxury boutique lodge accommodation, situated just a ten minute drive from Hokitika and its award winning cafes, and unique tourism attractions. Architecturally designed, each guest room takes maximum advantage of the wonderful views. Rooms are casually elegant, yet intimate, and tastefully decorated. Rimu Lodge is Qualmark assessed 5 star guest & hosted. We have also recently been awarded the Qualmark responsible tourism's Silver for excellent sustainability within our business. Imagine a place so pristine, beautiful and peaceful that you will be immediately struck by the absolute silence and the sheer majesty of your surroundings. A land that time has forgotten, where you can truly relax and take in the splendour of native New Zealand bush, snow clad mountains and the Hokitika River running through fertile farmlands. Rimu Lodge is the perfect retreat, you will be able to take time out and go at your own pace, surrounded by warmth, beauty and in winter the ambience of a roaring open fire. Guest Accommodation and Facilities Rimu Lodge offers guests superb accommodation with a maximum of four rooms. Egyptian cotton bed linen and soft, warm goosedown/feather duvets and pillows feature on the beds. The lodge's four guest rooms are located to take full advantage of the beautiful river and mountain views. All rooms have large ensuite bathrooms with hairdryers, toiletries, heated towel racks, heated demisting mirrors and robes. All rooms also have central heating and double glazed windows, table and chairs for your comfort, fresh flowers, chocolates, electric blankets, refrigerator and complimentary tea and coffee facilities. Telephone, facsimile and internet facilities are available to guests. There is a separate guest entrance to all suites. Tariff is per room and includes accommodation, full breakfast and New Zealand taxes of 12.5%. The Korimako room has a super king/twin bed, the Kotuku room has a king bed and the other two rooms (Kereru and Tui rooms) all have queen beds. All rooms face north with the two ground floor rooms opening onto a large deck to enable guests to enjoy the sunny outdoors. The first floor (upstairs) rooms have access to the deck from the great room. Breakfast Enjoy your gourmet breakfast looking out over the breathtaking views of the West Coast's Hokitika River and alpine peaks beyond. The breakfast menu may include fresh fruit, homemade muesli, cereals, muffins, fresh juice, french toast, pancakes and yoghurts, Delicious cooked breakfast is a speciality and can be enjoyed either in the dining room or on the deck in the morning sun. At the end of the day enjoy your evening meal at one of Hokitika's excellent cafes or restaurants. Activities We recommend guests stay a minimum of two nights so as to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities, including rafting, canoeing, river cruises, kayaking, scenic flights, bush, lakeside and beach walks and a choice of fine cafes and restaurants. We are also a short drive to Punakaiki and the pancake rocks to the north and to Franz Josef and Fox glaciers to the south. We searched far and wide to find the perfect spot for our lodge. The West Coast of New Zealand's South Island kept drawing us back time and again. We finally found what we had been looking for - an unspoiled environment with magnificent views. We have now realised our dream of developing a luxury boutique lodge where we can entertain visitors from around the world. We are looking forward to sharing our special place with you. | ||||||
