Hanmer Springs has a world famous outdoor hot springs complex (thermal reserve). It is set in a small alpine village surrounded by forested hills and mountains. The forests have numerous walking, tramping and mountain-biking trails. Crystal clear rivers provide excellent fishing and adventure activities.
