Enjoy the beauty of Gisborne, be one of the first to see the new sunrise. Sights not to be missed in town include Kaiti Hill, Cooks Landing, Te Poho-O-Rawiri Marae, the library and museum. Sights outside of town include Lake Waikaremoana, Morere Hot Springs, Mahia Peninsula, Eastwood Arboretum, and the East Cape Lighthouse. Gisborne has some of the best beaches in the country and the area is renowned for its surfing. Close to town check out Waikanae and Wainui beaches or venture further to Mahia or the many idyllic beaches on the East Cape.
