Welcome to Holly Homestead B&B near glorious Franz Josef Glacier, South Westland. Our beautifully restored character 1920s home is conveniently located approx 1.5km north of the Franz Josef Glacier village.

The rimu timbers of this colonial homestead seem to whisper history. Built in 1926 for the Paganini family, Holly Homestead is an excellent example of "Arts & Crafts" architecture mixed with casual country chic. You can feel that the people who lived here over the years lived well.

Your hosts Gerard and Bernadine (Bernie) Oudemans have tenderly refurbished the house and created a boutique B&B only three minutes drive from Franz Josef Glacier village. Choose from one of the king, queen or twin rooms; or the new deluxe super-king suite for that extra bit of decadence. All rooms have their own private ensuite, crisp linen and cosy bathrobes provided.

Start your adventure in Glacier Country with breakfast at the wooden farmhouse table and enjoy the charm of a country kitchen. On a clear day you'll be entranced by the view of the Southern Alps and the Franz Josef Glacier Nevé.

A delicious full breakfast will get you started in the morning, hot and cold drinks are available at any time, and the Franz Josef township offers a choice of restaurants for lunch and dinner.

Gerard and Bernie are NZ born and enjoy meeting and hosting people from all over the world. They can suggest just the right activities to suit you and your holiday style. Go exploring at your own pace and return home to an alpine sunset before retiring with a glass of port to the guest lounge and your welcoming bed.

Facilities:

Children 12 years and over are welcome. All guest rooms have comfortable beds with electric blankets, wool duvets, quality linen and bathrobes. Two of our Super King beds can be split to be two comfortable single beds or joined to be one large bed.

All bathrooms include toiletries, hairdryers, heated towel rails and the comfort of wooden toilet seats!

Laundry and Internet facilities available (including wireless internet).

The inside of our home is entirely smoke free. We are proud members of @home NEW ZEALAND and Heritage & Character Inns of New Zealand. Qualmark rated 4 STAR PLUS (Guest & Hosted).

Holly Homestead is located close to Franz Josef Glacier township - home of the famous Franz Josef Glacier (one of NZ's icons) with many exciting activities. Stay for a few days to allow yourself time to explore this spectacular area. We are happy to recommend activities and assist you in booking them.
