Welcome to Holly Homestead B&B at glorious Franz Josef Glacier, South Westland. Our beautifully restored character 1920s home is conveniently located approx 1.5km north of the Franz Josef village. Your hosts Gerard and Bernie invite you to share in their slice of paradise! This colonial homestead is one of Franz Josef's finest old timber homes. Holly Homestead is a fine example of "Arts & Crafts" architecture, built in the 1920s from beautiful native timbers. Choose from a selection of five well-appointed rooms including a deluxe new suite, or king/twin or queen rooms, all with ensuite facilities. A delicious full breakfast will get you started in the morning, hot and cold drinks are available at any time, and the Franz Josef township offers a choice of restaurants for lunch and dinner. Only after you have stayed will you come to understand the pleasure that Westland can bring. Experience the gorgeous West Coast, Okarito, Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier and South Westland from your base at Holly Homestead. Facilities: Children 12 years and over are welcome. All guest rooms have comfortable beds with electric blankets, wool duvets, quality linen and bathrobes. Two of our Super King beds can be split to be two comfortable single beds or joined to be one large bed. All bathrooms include toiletries, hairdryers, heated towel rails and the comfort of wooden toilet seats! Spectacular alpine view from the breakfast table (clouds permitting!). After your adventures, relax in our guest lounge and enjoy an evening glass of port, swap travel stories with other guests, catch up on your postcards or enjoy our books and magazines. There is room to spread out your maps (or our maps) or to write your journal. Laundry and Internet facilities available (including wireless internet). The inside of our home is entirely smoke free. Things to Do: Holly Homestead is located in Franz Josef - home of the famous Franz Josef Glacier (one of NZ's icons) with many exciting activities. We have experienced many of the local activities and attractions ourselves and love sharing our experiences with you.
