Glenroy House is a beautiful, fully modernized historical homestay situated in the Canterbury Foothills, 45 minutes from Christchurch International Airport, and 20 minutes from Mt Hutt skifield. Wake up to astounding country views from one of our well appointed, fully central heated rooms. We are approximately 20 minutes from Mount Hutt Ski fields and 15 minutes from the world famous golf course Terrace Downs, and on our door step is New Zealand's newest conservation park, Hakatere Conservation Park, which covers 67,000 ha of breathtaking scenery. Guest accommodation and Facilities We have a range of accommodation available. All rooms have fully modernised ensuite bathrooms and the entire home has full central heating. Every room has electric blankets, beautiful decor, and fantastic views! The Blue Room Has a very comfortable double bed, and spacious surroundings. You also have your own private bathroom that features a corner shower and a beautiful claw foot bath for you to relax in. The Red and Gold Room This room boasts exquisite views and pure luxury interior. It has a Queen size brass bed and its own ensuite bathroom. The room is also positioned so it catches the morning sun. The Pink Room A more romantic room with light creams and pinks. An ideal room for that romantic weekend away. It has a king size bed with an ensuite bathroom with a shower with a double vanity. This room also catches the morning sunshine and has breathtaking mountain views. During your stay at Glenroy House you can relax in the beautiful surroundings of the home, these include the comfortable Lounge area with its magnificent polished Rimu timber surrounds and wonderful large open fireplace, the ideal place to relax and unwind. Glenroy House is surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Southern Alps and close to all the attractions and activities mid Canterbury has to offer. Hororata Golf Club is just 5 minutes away in Glentunnel, and we also have two others close by. Go fishing for salmon or trout at any of the many rivers near by. For an adventure of a lifetime, try a day of scenic flights, sky diving, hot air ballooning, horse trekking or jet boating.
