Located in the heart of beautiful Christchurch City, The Devon Christchurch Bed & Breakfast offers elegance and comfort in the style of an Olde Worlde English Manor. The historic Christchurch Tramway re-established in 1994, runs past the front door.

Land titles show this property was originally purchased by one Samuel Hewlings Esq. in 1874. The present house was believed to have been built around 1907 or 1908 and is a lovely example of local Edwardian architecture.

The Devon Christchurch Bed & Breakfast has retained its grace and dignified appearance for almost a century and its beautiful panelled entrance hall and dining room has a warm ambience that evokes the feel of a bygone era.

Facilities

All of our Christchurch Bed & Breakfast Hotel rooms offer complete privacy and comfort. There are 9 ensuites and 1 private bathroom, all the beds are queen-size doubles with all rooms serviced daily.

The Ensuite bathrooms are modern and feature a shower, hand-basin and toilet facilities, with a shaver point for the gentlemen. There is variable fan heating in each ensuite. Wireless internet access is available.

A large guest lounge with TV and CD stereo available, and in the colder winter months, settle down in front of a cosy warm fire. Off-street parking is available, and all rooms are secure and private. Friendly assistance from Sandy, Benjamin and staff is always available!

Dining and Relaxation

We are pleased to be able to offer highest quality food at the Devon Bed & Breakfast Christchurch Hotel.

The renowned Devon Breakfast is served every morning in our warm and spacious dining room. The breakfast menu offers a choice of Continental breakfast (Cereals, fresh or stewed fruit & yoghurt) or Full cooked breakfast, including bacon, eggs (any style) and sausages. Toasted bread with the best of New Zealand's butter, preserves and freshly brewed tea or coffee is available.

Our Guest lounge is available at any time to chat with friends or other guests over a cup of tea or coffee, watch TV, listen to your favourite CD tracks or just relax and read the Christchurch Press newspaper which is provided daily. In the colder winter months, you can warm yourselves by a cosy gas fire set in the original large open hearth fireplace.

Location

The Christchurch CBD, the Christchurch Cathedral, Town Hall and Convention Centre, the Arts Centre, Christchurch Art Gallery, live theatre, movie theatres, the Casino, Museum, Botanical Gardens, Hospital and excellent restaurants and shopping are all within easy walking distance.
