Only 20 minutes north of Christchurch city, on the patchwork Canterbury Plains, with stunning views of the majestic Southern Alps, Petes Farm Stay is the ideal place to stay in comfort and experience a real New Zealand lifestyle farm. PETES FARM offers 2 sorts of accommodation House- 3 bedrooms Self Contained Cottage - 2 bedrooms , can sleep up to 6 Petes Farm Stay is a Qualmark accredited 4 star property. Farm Activities Get up close with some farm animals. Touch, cuddle and feed the pet sheep, alpacas and calves. Help out with activities around the farm or simply enjoy a glass of wine whilst taking in the lovely countryside. If you are stopping in for a night or staying for a week there is plenty to see and do. Enjoy our panoramic views of the mountains and countryside from all rooms in our new home. Gaye uses home grown all natural produce to make genuine New Zealand meals, enjoy with a NZ beer or wine. In summer head to the beach only 15 minutes away and take in the breathtaking blue of the Pacific Ocean. There are two fabulous rivers close by, the mighty Waimakariri which offers Jet Boating rides, and the meandering Ashley River, best enjoyed from Ashley Gorge 15 minutes up the road! We have 4 golf courses nearby. Horseriding is available. Local wineries a must to see and taste the great wine. Day trips to Kaikoura Whale Watch, Hanmer Thermal Springs, Akaroa, Arthur's Pass, Antarctic Center and Christchurch. Your hosts Pete and Gaye will ensure you have a truly memorable KIWI experience. Let Pete take your on a tour of the farm, watch his dogs round up the sheep before showing you how to shear one. Then enjoy a good ole kiwi BBQ and maybe a glass of wine. Guest Accommodation If you are staying the night sit back and enjoy a meal and see some of the best skies in the world for stargazing before retiring to your room. The new and modern house can accommodate up to 9 people. Children are welcome. There are 3 big bedrooms with your own private bathroom and toilet. Every room has a great view of the mountains and countryside. The cottage can sleep 6 people. There is 2 bedrooms. A fully equipped kitchen. Lounge with TV. wireless internet. Gaye can also pick you up from Christchurch International or Domestic Airport if you need a ride. | |||||||
